Dear Reader:
These are turbulent times. Times of distress, uncertainty, emotions are running high, many not sure how they will keep a roof over their head and food on their table for their family.
Even though we must keep our distance physically we can give our support to our family, friends, and neighbors by picking up the phone and just saying “how are you doing?”
For all those single parents who cannot miss work, seeking help with child care I would like to say I feel your pain. I am experiencing this with my daughter and my three grandchildren. Schools have closed for the rest of the school year, extra curricular activities cancelled. Just yesterday she wrote “wishing you lived closer”. She knows I would be there in a heart beat.
For all those who consider themselves in the senior categories, many stores are opening for one hour before all other shoppers just for the seniors, for those who are at risk.
Governments are doing what they believe is best but still it does not calm frayed nerves.
As for me I was suppose to have two doctors appointments and both were re-booked for a month from now.
So, if I could I would offer all those who are hurting a warm hug of assurance. Remember, wherever you live you are not facing this troublesome time alone!
Stay safe!
I like the way you emphasize for others . Peoples like you are rare to find .

Thank you!
Serving others has been my life, it is a message that we need to hear more often. I suppose the Pastoral instinct is still within me.

At the market people were checking on one another. One young woman named Sydney gave me her telephone number and told me if I need anything she will make sure I receive it. She told me if I see anyone in need due to being stranded by this to call her, or give them her number. Truly, from the things I’ve been hearing through the internet I wasn’t sure what I was going to find in the market. The healthier older people are expressing kindness and concern for the people around them. The young people are acting amazingly caring and thoughtful. Maybe we are becoming the kinder, gentler nation, after all.

It’s hard to watch others struggling with things at any time, but these days especially. We’ll all make it through if we help each other out to the best of our abilities following social distancing and using common sense without panic.

For me Angie, as I just wrote a post I am frustrated because ones that I love I cannot be there to help them.

Yes, I understand that. I can relate, but kind of the opposite way. My Dad is only 30 minutes away and he lives on his own. He’s 70 and has very high anxiety. It would be comforting for him if he had people around that could help keep him occupied and busy.

To pass time my best friend and I sit and play games of Cribbage.
When I am alone I like playing Mahjong on my laptop. Also, I love to read when it is quiet at night.
